The first person to be PHYSICALLY CROWNED as a queen instead of just having the knowledge that she is a Queen ok? YES KIDA IS A QUEEN. HOWEVER WE DO NOT GET A PHYSICAL SCENE OF HER BEING GIVEN THE TITLE OF QUEEN- PLEASE DO NOT BE UPSET- THE ORIGINAL POSTER OF THIS IS CORRECT. She was LITERALLY the first princess to be CROWNED on screen AS A QUEEN and therefore this is true.
Fuck it, I’m just gonna say it. Atlantis sucked. It did not do well in theatres. It got bad ratings. The story was meh. The characters were meh. Everything about it was meh. Tumblr really needs to figure out that just because a movie has diverse characters or an important message or passes the bechtel test doesn’t automatically make it good.
And don’t even try to call me racist for this because literally every other Disney movie about people who aren’t white is incredible. This is literally the only one I don’t like, and it *surprise* has nothing to do with Kida’s fucking skin tone. It’s just. Not. A. Great. Movie.
They’re pouring latex on him to make a false chest. So that they can place the arc reactor prop in him and make it legitimately look like it’s embedded in is flesh and with tears and scar tissue. The latex is colored so they can see where they are applying and how thick the layers are. It will then be airbrushed to his skintone and details like nipples scar tissue discoloration will be added.
Here’s that picture
Then the reactor prop is added to the dimple. Basically the latex becomes fake skin and they tear part of the center open to embed it.
Now you can see how realistic it looks.
I cannot express enough how much I love little behind the scenes things like this.
This miniature ecosystem has been thriving in an almost completely isolated state for more than forty years. It has been watered just once in that time.
The original single spiderwort plant has grown and multiplied, putting out seedlings. As it has access to light, it continues to photosynthesize. The water builds up on the inside of the bottle and then rains back down on the plants in a miniature version of the water cycle.
As leaves die, they fall off and rot at the bottom producing the carbon dioxide and nutrients required for more plants to grow.
if you don’t think this is fucking rad then get out of my face
